01 The brief

The architectural challenge

A glazed atrium at the heart of a new villa - planted, full of light and completely silent. The architect wanted sound and movement without a pond.

02 The specification

A rain column with a brushed metal manifold and reservoir, a botanical core and a low-splash rain curtain, on a closed recirculating loop.

Water
Closed-loop, low splash
Finish
Brushed metal, preserved botanicals

03 The installation

Positioned on the atrium axis, levelled, filled and balanced so the curtain falls evenly all the way round.

The atrium is no longer silent. The sound of rain carries through the ground floor.
